Solid Image was founded in June 1998 by three equal partners — and friends — Mark Schroeder, Rick Pitts, and Karen Schroeder.
Friends since 1972, Mark and Rick have worked together on everything from helping build each other’s homes to running fence lines, restoring old trucks, and getting in the occasional 18 holes of golf.
Karen met Mark and Rick in 1984 when they all worked at the same countertop company in Orlando owned by Mark’s dad.
Realizing they were all hard workers dedicated to a higher quality standard for products and customer service and were open to innovative ideas, they decided to start their own business.
When brainstorming to come up with a name, they realized the first part was easy — “Solid” — as Corian® Solid Surface was the first product they offered. Thinking about what set them apart from other companies, they realized they cared about their products, their customers, and their (future) employees – their “Image” — There it was: SOLID IMAGE.
